I am trying not to take pain meds during the day. This is
working out except for the last couple of days. I haven't felt well because of
a variety of reasons. Including taking medication for my edema which causes confusion. I hate when I am confused. It hurts me.
I've tried to walk every day but usually after that I run out of energy. I sit around and try to clear my TiVo. If I sit still I an usually okay and can make it till pill time at bedtime. I recently watched an odd double feature of Cruel Intentions and Because I Said So. "Because I Said So" is one of those family dramas that
mothers and daughters or men that want to get laid would take their wives or girlfriends too. I was not impressed with this movie despite a decent cast that included Many Moore, Diane Keaton, Lauren Graham, Piper Pearbo, and some guys include Tom Everrt Scott and the father from Seventh Heaven. Can we please try to get Diane Keaton a more deserving role than a hand flapping interfering mother? Also when fathers have custody of the kids could we please make them a little less cute? This movie was an odd fairy tale to say the least. There were some good songs on the sound track that were ripped off from the Grey's Anatomy. Who writes this crap and why do I watch it?
I think I saw "Cruel Intentions" in the theater or
I might have rented it. I don't remember much about it so I wanted to watch it
again. The sound track rocks. You also can't beat the chemistry between Ryan
Phillipe and Reese Witherspoon. There
are also some interesting scenes between Phillipe Sarah Michelle Gellar or
Prinze as she is now called. Of course it was based on a classic piece of
literature. I enjoyed watching it again but I had forgotten what had happened
at the very end. It's a very teenaged sort of movie.
The other things I am using to entertain myself are reruns of "Dirty Jobs". I think I have a crush on Mike Rowe. The premise of the show is that the host, Mike Rowe, tries to do dirty jobs. Some of these are funny, and some of them are quite serious. Most of the video footage is stuff I shouldn't watch during lunch. Rowe's background includes opera singing, QVC hosting, and hosting an early evening talk show in San Francisco which he says five people watched. He also does a bunch of narration work so you can hear him on most Discovery shows. I enjoy the behind the scenes footage where they show some of the things the camera people go through to get the show done. I like this show. It makes me laugh.
I am running out of episodes to watch so I might have to switch over to Man vs. Wild. I have heard this show is fake. I have also heard that the host of the show...a guy named Bear, how I could I not like someone with that name, broke his back in three places and recovered to climb Everest! I need that sort of role model right now. I might not need to climb that high of a mountain but some of the things I need to do to get back to myself seem that insurmountable. When I went to school this week I was afraid to pick up a camera.
